1.) It's Getting Closer, ARGH! Yesterday the Gasparilla Pirates tried to capture the key to the city, but Mayor Buckhorn said, "I'm not gonna give up this key!

It's all part of the theatrics to promote Saturday's Gasparilla Pirate Fest, which begins with the invasion of the Jose Gasparilla at the Tampa Convention Center around noon and ends with the parade up Bayshore Boulevard at 1:30pm.

2.) New Grocery Store Coming To...Carrollwood! Publix will soon be tearing down the store at Fletcher & Dale Mabry Highway (they are completely re-vamping that entire shopping center), and rebuilding the site into a luxurious new store. Their plans are to build one of their Greenwise concept stores with a sit-down café and loads of fresh-made foods and organic produce. Click here for more on TBO.com
3.) So It's Been Confirmed: Beyonce lip-synched the Star Spangled Banner at the Presidential Inauguration on Monday. This is all anyone is talking about. It's not really that she lip-synched, it's that "did she need to do it"?
New York Post's Page Six has confirmed that the singer decided at the last minute to lip-sync the National Anthem over the weekend, a rep for the United States Marine Band revealed.
The band rep, Kristin DuBois, told Page Six, “All music is pre-recorded for the ceremony because there are so many eventualities and conditions that day." She adds, “We performed, live, the band. But we received last-minute word that Beyonce was going to use the pre-recorded vocal track. Those were the instructions we were given. We don’t know what the reason why.” Click here to read more.
4.) Another Disney Classic Heading to Broadway: Hope Princess Jasmine is looking for an affordable loft in NYC. Aladdin is the next Disney movie about to hit the great white way. The president of Disney Theatrical Production said in an interview with the AP, it's going to be "a full-length, big song musical with big dance numbers." Including, "new songs by Alan Menken, additional characters and, appropriately, some magic tricks." Click here to read more.
