The Animal Coalition of Tampa (ACT) officially announced today that they will be holding this year’s Stride for Strays fundraising event, presented by the Petco Foundation and Bright House Networks, on Sunday, October 20th, 2013 from 9am to 4pm at Raymond James Stadium, North lot.
Now celebrating its 13h year, this popular community event brings together animal lovers and their pets from all over the Tampa Bay area for a 3k walk to help raise funds for The ACT Spay/Neuter Clinic. Walkers can register online at www.strideforstrays.org, where they can also form or join teams, create their own personal webpage to solicit donations, and access social media tools to get the word out to family and friends about their participation. Top prizes will be awarded for teams and individual walkers. Those who collect at least $100 in donations will be entered to win generous prizes, such as a 42” flat screen TV, an iPad Mini, a Samsung Galaxy Tab, and dozens more. Individuals who raise $1,000 or more will be entered to win a family getaway on a private island. Walker registration is $25 and includes a commemorative T-shirt. Non-walkers are also welcome to attend for a $5 donation. Parking is free. .
Along with the walk, ACT is having the first-ever “Tailgate Party for Pets.” There will be live music from 3 bands, dock diving, a doggie fun zone, a Halloween pet costume contest, an adoptable pet parade, people and pet massages, and more. Food trucks will be on site and craft beer will be available for purchase. .
Vendor space is still available, but going quickly. Interested parties should go to http://www.strideforstrays.org, http://stridevendors.eventbrite.com/ or call Karen Hubby at 813-250-1234 for more information.
