Biography: Stefano
Stefano is already an idol.
Music industry sages had their eye on the 2010 "American Idol" Top 10 finalist from the first moment he took the national stage. His combination of kind heart and good looks, of sleek R&B chops and Latin fire, made Stefano a fan favorite, with Idol judge Jennifer Lopez at one point telling him simply, "You're hot. I love you. That's all." But that's not all. Stefano is now set to make the idolization complete with "I'm On a Roll," his premiere single from Hollywood Records.
It's hard to imagine a more aptly titled song than "I'm On a Roll." That's because he is. After the American Idol tour last summer, Stefano made the rounds of the national media, and was simultaneously courted by several labels. Ultimately, he signed with Hollywood, and got straight to work on his debut album.
For this first single, Stefano teamed up with Rock Mafia, the unstoppable hit machine headed by songwriter-producers Tim James and Antonina Armato. The duo worked with Stefano once before, producing his stunning "American Idol" rendition of "If You Don't Know Me By Now." That foundation led to an equally fruitful collaboration this time around.
"It's very important to have a good relationship with people you work with closely," Stefano says. "Having Antonina -- so full of love while bringing out the best traits in yourself -- and Tim, who always makes sure you execute in the right way, was a blessing."
