Tampa, Fla.-(970 WFLA)-The man shot by a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Deputy this week, during some domestic trouble at the Oak Bend Apartments on University Woods Place, is facing charges.
Twenty seven year-old Carlos Rivera-Rodriguez has now been charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer.
Deputy James Woods shot Rivera-Rodriguez after the man pointed a gun in his direction. It turns out the gun Rivera-Rodriguez had was a real-looking Walther BB gun.
Rivera-Rodriguez remains in St. Joseph's hospital after the shooting. Deputy Woods is on administrative leave pending the outcome of a shooting investigation.
