TALLAHASSEE, Fla.(970 WFLA/AP)-Governor Rick scott is vetoing three bills, including one that would have kept secret meetings of a committee that reviews child abuse deaths.
Scott acted on seven bills. He signed one piece of legislation that will tweak enforcement of the state's red light camera laws.
Scott vetoed a measure that would have dismissed charges against certain criminal defendants three years after the defendant is declared incompetent to stand trial. The current time period is five years.
The governor called the change a ``serious public safety risk.''
Scott also vetoed a bill that would have removed a requirement to record meetings of the state child abuse death review committee. The committee can hold confidential meetings but it still must record them.
